DRIVER AWARENESS PSYCHOLOGICAL DRIVING COURSES ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM ANY OTHER DRIVING COURSE YOU MAY HAVE SEEN OR
EXPERIENCED.

SO WHAT IS A DRIVER AWARENESS COURSE ALL ABOUT?

  • It is all about psychology and driver thinking

  • It is a way in which to habitually think

  • Avoidance tactics which enable a driver to keep a vehicle in a safe position at all times

    Motorway3
  • To always pay due regard toward the possible incompetent and sometimes irresponsible actions or inactions of other road users.

WHEN OTHER ROAD USERS ARE BEHAVING THEMSELVES

IT'S ONLY A BONUS

The courses concentrate upon the attitudes and techniques that are expected of police-trained VIP protection personnel. It's not so much how you can handle a vehicle (clutch control etc), it's more to do with how you think.

'Mind Games'

You may not be surprised to learn that Police Officers and certain Security Personnel are trained to drive in such situations.

But you, as an everyday driver, using everyday roads anywhere in the world, are at an even greater risk.

But what education have you previously received?

Think back to your own driving test, when you did little more than perhaps show some clutch control.

  • You would have started on a hill perhaps, without rolling backwards

  • You would have carried out a few reversing manoeuvres

  • You would have been asked to steer mainly to follow white paint lines and the edge of the roadway

  • Negotiated a few hazards such as bollards or a roundabout

  • You would have been expected to travel up to 30 m.p.h unless you were very fortunate and been in asked to drive in a 40 m.p.h. area!

  • You would then have taken the examiner back to the testing station - in a reasonable frame of mind.

That's it!

Now - having answered a few questions on the highway code, you were given a licence to drive

FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!

WHAT A WONDERFUL SYSTEM!

Even though you have never driven on a motorway in your life before now, you are able - legally - to drive at 70 m.p.h - and on your own.

JUST THINK - YOU ARE NOW ABLE TO JOIN IN HIGH-SPEED FORMATION FLYING WITH TOTALLY UNTRAINED STRANGERS!

Driver Awareness offers one-day and two-day courses.

Both courses can accommodate up to three people (+ the consultant), in the vehicle, for the full day.

Experience has shown us that students learn by observing and listening to each other as well as the consultant.

The one-day course starts with a short classroom-based introduction to Driver Awareness concepts (attitudes and techniques), with the remainder of the day being spent out on the road.

The one-day course gives the students sufficient awareness to be confident of travelling on any type of road, and in any conditions - with a greater sense of security and safety for both themselves and their passengers.

The two-day course comprises the one-day course, followed, on the second day with a more in-depth look at elements of VIP Protection attitudes and techniques.

By becoming involved in "Driver Awareness" attitudes and techniques, you will help to save costs, save lives, reduce serious injuries and increase efficiency and productivity.

THERE ARE NO LOSERS!

THE DRIVING SKILL IS NOT PHYSICAL

  • You will learn never to trust other road users. In fact:

  • You will only ever expect others to try and do you a mischief.

  • No exclamations of surprise at the behaviour of other road users are allowed. However, if you do make any, then it will probably illustrate that it is YOU who has the bad attitude because it demonstrates that YOU have trusted them to be as aware as you are.

  • The 'Aware' driving skill comes with:

  • The acquired habit of looking a long way ahead.

  • Planning for what IS seen.

  • Planning also for what ISN'T seen and,

  • MOST IMPORTANTLY

  • Planning for the unexpected.

Street

These plans and decisions are based upon the fact that, in your 'mind's eye', everyone else is untrained and so, no doubt, suffers from any combination of:

Ignorance

Arrogance

Indifference

Bad Manners

Possible Criminality.

You Expect Nothing Less!

Your vehicle will always be in as much space as possible in order to deal with them

You will, thefore, gain essential and valuable time in which to think (and escape if you need )

Countryside

Please remember

There is no consolation in being dead or lying seriously injured in hospital, saying

"The accident (Incident or Crash) wasn't my fault"

It's far better not to be involved in the first place, because it doesn't really matter who's fault it was.

All over the world, there are people using the roads and assuming that certain things may, or may not happen.

The words ASSUME and PRESUME (in order to descibe your own driving thoughts and actions) do not exist in the vocabulary of people educated in Driver Awareness.
